My journey didn't start in a peaceful yoga studio; it started in the darkest corners of addiction. For years, I was lost, running on empty, and looking for anything to fill the void. On June 10, 2021, I hit absolute rock bottom. I woke up in a hospital bed with no friends, no family, and zero dollars to my name. That was the day I chose sobriety, but the road wasn't easy.
"My body and mind were desperate for relief. I found that relief the night I walked into a sound healing session. The physical vibrations of the singing bowls did something to my nervous system that alcohol never could—they gave me peace. That single session sparked a fire.
Driven to find that same stillness in motion, I decided to step onto a yoga mat for the very first time. In early sobriety, my body was carrying a heavy weight of physical restlessness and unexpressed anxiety that I could no longer numb. Walking into that first yoga class was a desperate attempt to find an outlet for the tension trapped in my muscles. As I moved through the postures, the practice forced me to breathe through the discomfort, directly addressing the raw, overwhelming anxiety that used to drive me to drink. It wasn't just exercise; it was the first time I learned how to safely inhabit my own skin without needing an escape.
This profound physical release anchor-launched my journey. I drove all over California, attending ashrams, retreats, meditation classes, and yoga teacher trainings, entirely focused on healing me. During those quiet, sober moments, I finally found the light. It was during one of those deep, reflective yoga classes that a clear voice told me: 'You will be teaching this.'"
With a background in personal training, I already knew how to teach people to "look good" on the outside. But my transformation taught me something deeper: I wanted to teach people how to feel good on the inside. After transforming her own life through the power of mindfulness, she stepped away from the corporate world to create Deep Vibrations—a sanctuary space dedicated to emotional and physical alignment.
At Deep Vibrations, my husband (a comforting water sign) and I (an energetic fire sign) combine our energies to create an intense, healing "purple vibration" through sound and movement. Whether you are recovering from addiction, navigating heartbreak, or processing trauma, Deep Vibrations is here to help you slow down, heal, and remember exactly who you are.
Erika spent years mastering the mechanics of physical movement and helping clients transform their bodies
on the outside. Today, her work goes deeper—guiding individuals on a journey of inner transformation.
